Intake screening is Earth Connection Community's pre-ceremony process for assessing a prospective participant's spiritual readiness to take part in ceremony with the sacrament. It exists to confirm sincere spiritual purpose and to identify known contraindication risks before someone is welcomed into ceremony.
Intake screening exists to protect the sincerity and safety of ceremony: confirming a participant's spiritual purpose and surfacing anything ceremony participation should account for. Where a prospective participant discloses a medication or condition with a known contraindication, ECC states that fact plainly — but any decision about stopping or changing a medication is made solely between the participant and their own medical provider; ECC never instructs anyone to alter their treatment.
The screening coordinator conducts intake screening through a written questionnaire and, where needed, a conversation to understand a participant's spiritual intention and readiness. Its outcome is either a welcome into ceremony, a request for further preparation, or — where contraindication risk is too great — a respectful decline.
