Ceremonial Meals

The food provided during an ECC retreat — prepared in keeping with the dietary protocol of the pre-ceremony dieta and the nutritional needs of participants undergoing intensive spiritual work.

Ceremonial Meals are the meals served throughout an ECC retreat, prepared to align with the dieta — the traditional dietary restrictions observed in the Shipibo curanderismo lineage in the days surrounding ceremony. Foods that are heavy, fermented, or otherwise considered to interfere with the sacrament are set aside in favor of simple, clean, plant-forward fare.

Beyond the dieta itself, the kitchen also attends to the practical needs of guests moving through several days of ceremony and little sleep — meals are timed around the ceremonial schedule and offer nourishment that supports steadiness and energy without weighing the body down.
