Soul Retrieval is a concept found in shamanic and ceremonial traditions around the world, describing the spiritual recovery of parts of the self understood to have become lost, fragmented, or disconnected — often through difficult life experience. Rather than a psychological diagnosis or intervention, soul retrieval is understood religiously: as the restoration of wholeness in one's spirit and one's relationship to the divine, sought through ceremony, prayer, and the guidance of the sacred medicine.
Within Earth Connection Community's practice, soul retrieval is not something a facilitator performs upon a participant, nor an outcome ECC promises to deliver. It refers instead to an experience some participants report during deep ceremony — a felt sense of reclaiming or reintegrating a part of themselves — held within ECC's broader religious framework of spiritual renewal and communion with the divine. ECC does not present soul retrieval as a substitute for medical or mental health care, which remains the responsibility of each participant's own providers.
